Rihanna – After being forced to cancel five of her concerts in America days after ending a triumphant tour in Europe Rihanna got a bit emotional while thanking the few fans who were able to purchase tickets to see her perform live during her “Last Girl on Earth” tour in Sacramento, California on Friday night.
The Disturbia singer appeared a bit shaky as she took the mic to tell the audience that she appreciates them for making her dreams come true and for repeatedly showing her support.
Rihanna is only the latest star to fall victim to the economic crisis. Christina Aguilera also had to cancel her concerts, the Jonas Brothers annulled 16 concerts of their 2010 summer tour. Few weeks ago, the organizers of the Lilith Fair in which Rihanna was supposed to participate had to announced that eleven dates were canned because of poor ticket sales. Even the American Idol tour was cancelled.
During these dire economic times do you still break your piggy bank to show your favorite artists that you still appreciate their work or do you say that no singer who makes a gazillion dollar a year is worthy of your hard earned money?
